2009 Product Information
For 2009, there will be a lot of changes to the very successful Hitchhiker II series. To begin with the "II" designation is being dropped. The series for 2009 will simply be known as the HitchHiker LS series. Base prices and the price of the Value package will be notably higher. Some of this reflects additional content and some is simply raw material increases. Quite a few of the changes to the LS product line reflect the move to building in the larger NuWa plant and the desire to minimize the different materials required for each series.
The changes to the base model are as follows: solid surface counter tops and a single lever pull-out spout faucet in the kitchen, polystone vanity with integrated sink, wood headboard, radius bathroom walls on side bath models, a water utility center, new chassis design with front generator mounting area (10" frame models only?), deeper entrance steps, and the radiant barrier insulation as used on the other NuWa products.
The value package will now also include: 32" LCD TV on an articulated arm, space saver microwave (formerly in the deluxe package) soft top mattress, folding hand rail, battery on-off switch.
The Deluxe package will now also include: aluminum wheels, halogen and fluorescent lights, polystone fiberglass shower enclosure, and a fancy shower head.
New Options for 2009 will be : cherry stained cabinets, LCD TV integrated into a cabinet door in the bedroom, SeeLevel monitor system, Big Foot Leveling (full auto or manual control - 10" frame models only), spare tire and wheel (formerly part of the value package) aluminum wheel for spare, TrailAir EquaFlex suspension, 5.5KW Onan (10" Frame models only), four step entry steps, compartments for 4 batteries (2 standard)

For 2009 some new standard equipment and some new options will compliment the vast improvements made in the 2008 products. New standard equipment in the Discover America series are thicker solid surface counter tops with integrated sinks, more halogen and fluorescent lighting, a fancy shower head, 32" LCD TVs, TrailAir Equaflex suspension, black window frames, recessed and flushed stove tops, larger microwave, compartment for four batteries, aluminum wheels (aluminum for spare is optional).
The new options are: SeeLevel Monitor system, stainless steel appliance package, a manual version of the Big Foot levelers, a less expensive electric awning option, "H" tire options (not all models), convection microwave oven, two folding dinette chairs
